To be honest, at the first time I saw this movie title, I was a little bit turned off. I am not someone who like fairy-fantasy themed movies. Because most of them are for kids, boring storyline, predictable ending, and just too "soft". So, the only reason I watched this movie is because I saw it got good reviews in Rottentomatoes.com.
Straight to the plot, there are two planes in England, one is the real one, and the other is a magical kingdom of Stormhold. Between these two territories, there is a very long wall which are build to separate these two lands. No one has ever cross that wall until a curious young man from a small village in England did that. At the other side, he met a beautiful princess, and a boy was born.
The story then focused on the boy (named Tristan), who now is 18 years old (played by Charlie Cox). He accidentaly ventured across the wall once again because of his will to get the fallen star (which fell in the opposite of the wall) for his first love. The star (named Yvaine) itself is actually a woman (played by Claire Danes) who then tried to get back to her home at the sky. At the first time they met, Tristan only think about how to get Yvaine and show her to his sweetheart. But as soon as the story complicates, Tristan decided to protect Yvaine from danger which surrounds her. Yvaine is actually hunted by an evil witch (played my Michelle Pfeiffer) who wants her heart to have eternal youth and Stormhold princes who want her necklace in order to be officially crowned. In their adventure, they also met a fierce captain named Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) but soon it was revealed that he was actually very kind and soft.
Stardust gives an adventure not like other fairy tale movies did. It is very funny, imaginative, mind blowing and very satisfying. It is a movie about everyone's fantasy, great for kids to adult.
